Introduction
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are increasingly occupying a central position on the global health agenda. Traditionally overshadowed by infectious diseases, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, NCDs such as hypertension (HTN) and diabetes mellitus (DM) are now emerging as a problem of “epidemic” magnitude. In Angola, this scenario is no exception, and these conditions contribute progressively and often silently to rising premature mortality, overburdened health services, and a decline in economic and social productivity.
